Integrated Management Systems

The integration of integrated management systems is highly recommended to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of your ISO certification. The fact that ISO standards follow the same Annex V as a framework facilitates this integration. By merging the different management systems, a synergy is achieved that allows both areas to complement and strengthen one another.

Furthermore, integrating multiple standards into a single audit by the certification body is an effective strategy for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of your integrated management systems.

Certificates for Integrated Management Systems

The standard Integrated Management Systems certifications are:

  • ISO 9001 quality certification. This is the most common certification. It guarantees that a company has an effective quality management system in place, thereby meeting the end customer’s requirements.
  • ISO 14001 or EMAS environmental management certification. Its aim is to establish effective environmental management standards and systems for companies. It can also be integrated with complementary standards such as ISO 50001 for energy efficiency, ISO 140006 for eco-design, ISO 14064 on Greenhouse Gas Reporting, and ISO 14025 on Environmental Product Declarations.
  • ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. This guarantees health and safety at work. It can be integrated with the documentation prepared by the SPA to ensure compliance with legal occupational safety requirements.
  • CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) certification. This may be recognised through a certificate (according to Forética, ISO 26001 or IQNet SR10), a GRI report or CSR audits (Ecovadis, SMETA, B-Corp or LUCIE Progress).
  • Information security, in accordance with ISO 27001 or ENS. Although certification may not be required, cybersecurity is becoming increasingly important, so it is advisable to incorporate the requirements of these standards into the management system. GDPR and LOPD requirements can be integrated into the system.
