- Energy planning. The standard ensures that energy planning is consistent with the energy policy and aims to review activities that may affect energy performance.
- Energy objectives, energy targets and energy management action plans.
- Energy communication. It allows for the voluntary communication of the energy policy.
- Operational control, design and procurement of energy services, products, equipment and energy. The standard sets out requirements regarding the design and procurement of energy. It also requires criteria to be established for assessing the costs associated with the procurement of energy through the use of services, products and equipment that are expected to have a significant impact on the certified organisation’s energy performance.
- Monitoring, measurement and analysis. The standard is more specific as it stipulates minimum requirements to be monitored, measured and analysed, which includes significant energy uses and relevant variables as well as other factors for energy review.
