Accessibility at Service Stations

The team from Emas Consultores, represented by Jordi Gabarró, took part in the First Sectoral Meeting for self-service petrol stations. The event was organised by AESAE, the National Association of Self-Service Petrol Stations, to discuss accessibility at petrol stations.

The event, chaired by Manuel Jiménez Perona, was attended by representatives from Endesa, CLH, Madic, Emasconsultors and associates.

It was a day where business leaders from the sector were able to explore various aspects in depth: fuels, new energies, automation, accessibility and the legal situation in each of the autonomous communities.

Jordi Gabarró’s presentation, entitled “Accessibility for all at petrol stations”, began by emphasising the right of people with disabilities to universal accessibility, enabling them to lead a normal life.

He emphasised the need to design environments that are suited to the abilities, needs and expectations of all potential users.

Concepts such as universal accessibility and all the benefits it brings—including the associated costs—were defined. This also included the DALCO requirements and the UNE 17001 accessibility standard.

As ISO consultants, we know how to integrate the UNE 17001 accessibility requirements into your integrated management system covering ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, and Corporate Social Responsibility.

The event was attended by approximately 80 people and 10 journalists who echoed the main message: “Petrol stations are a reality and offer a future full of opportunities.”

We are currently working towards achieving UNE 17001 certification for accessibility at AutoNet & Oil service stations. Accessibility is an aspect linked to Corporate Social Responsibility.
